Roast and Tune is where exceptional single-origin coffee meets carefully curated live music — every cup poured with intention, every note played with heart.
Roast and Tune was born from a simple observation: the best conversations happen when the coffee is right and the music is alive. We opened our doors on Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard to create a space where neither element is an afterthought.
Every Saturday morning, a local guitarist takes the small stage by the window. On Friday nights, the room fills with jazz, folk, and everything in between. The menu changes with the seasons — but the commitment to real flavor and real sound never does.
Our small stage by the window has hosted everything from solo acoustic sets to full jazz combos. We believe local music deserves a room where it's heard — not just background noise.
"I come here every Saturday morning before my walk through the neighborhood. The pour-over is the best I've had in Newark, and the music makes it feel like a little escape."
— A regular"As a musician, it's rare to find a venue that actually listens. The crowd here is present, the sound is warm, and the coffee keeps me going through the set."
— A local artist"The banana walnut bread is unreal. I've brought friends from out of town here instead of fancy restaurants — they always leave impressed."
